Dance Classes Offered
Super Tot
Especially designed for 3 and 4 year olds, our tots class is perfect for those entering a dance class
for the first time - eager to explore the world of music and dance! The children will have a rich
experience of learning how their bodies respond to music - learning skills such as locomotor
(moving) and non-locomotor (staying in one place) movements in an atmosphere that is filled
with imagery and self-expression. Students learn basic ballet and tumbling skills that help
strengthen their motor coordination & body awareness. Social skills are acquired as they develop
simple class tasks such as taking turns and following directions while interacting with their peers.
All this is guided under the umbrella of highly experienced pre-k staff!
Tiny Tumblers
This class is for our students ages 4 and up. It is designed to increase motor skills, coordination,
body awareness, flexibility and strength, while doing so in a fun, music and movement filled
atmosphere! Imaginative play is still at hand for these little ones as they learn tumbling “tricks”
to impress all! Great for those energetic darlings in our life...We don’t call them tiny tumblers for
nothing!
Combo Jazz/Acro
Designed for 5 & 6 year olds, who are too “experienced” for Super Tots, but still desire the
combination of jazz & tumbling class. Like the Super Tots, it continuously stresses self-
expression through different styles of music with an emphasis upon development of coordination
and flexibility. Basic jazz “steps” and tumbling are introduced in a way that utilizes imagination
and student participation. Music & movement games are always integrated in the combo classes!
Combo Tap/Ballet
Designed for 5 and 6 year olds who are too experienced for Super tots, this class “whole body”
tap class encourages the child to be expressive not only with their tappin’ feet, but with their
whole body as well! Rhythm and tempo is introduced through exercises using several genres of
music. Basic tap skills are introduced and for the 2nd half of the class ballet skills are integrated
into thematic play, to learn the foundations of ballet, with regards to “proper’ feet and arm
placement.
Jazz
Our jazz class is designed for students ages 7 and up that have some prior dance experience. Jazz
technique is taught with use of non- locomotor and locomotor movements. It is a fun, energetic
class that combines creative movement and upbeat tempo music. Likened to other dance forms
physical conditioning, coordination, strength and flexibility are all incorporated with
concentration on developing a strong foundation of Jazz technique.
Tap
Our tap class is designed for ages 7 and up and is a form of dance wherein rhythmic sounds are
created by the feet. This class teaches all the very basic through advanced skills in tap with
emphasis on rhythm, and tempo, and ability to count music, with numbers and even sounds
(ba,da,dum dum.. for example) clarity of sound and precision of movements are acquired through
repetition of warm-up combinations along with working upper body placement. Rhythmic and
traditional tap is taught as well as “whole body tap” ..where the student learns to involve the
entire body in it’s own rhythmic tappin moves!
Ballet
This classic art form teaches poise, strength, grace & control, proper body placement &
alignment as well as discipline. It is designed for students 7 & up. This genre is the essential
foundation for all other types of dance and is foremost in learning proper technique. It is
strongly recommended for all dancers as it is integrated in all forms of dance...from tap to jazz to
modern and lyrical.
Acro Tumbling
For ages 5 & up, this is for the student wanting to learn basic through advanced skills from mat
tumbling to jumps. It incorporates total body conditioning, strength, flexibility, coordination and
muscle development. The class is completely individualized to each learner, their goals & level.

genres of dance from ballet to jazz and modern. Lyrical is a class that encourages the student to
relate to the empowerment of the music and encourages even further self-expression and
interpretation of what is presented to them.
Hip Hop
Very much like jazz, but with more freedom of movement, Hip Hop is an energized street dance
that is similar to the style you would see in the entertainment industry/pop culture. This class
has been extremely popular with both young and not so young alike as it is filled with energy and
exercise to the max! This class combines today's (appropriate) pop music and up to date “funky
moves" ~ all designed to have fun and share with each other the expression of “the funky soul”
from within! |
